Amazon’s “Transparent” Set to Wow Viewers – Trailer

transparentThe 2014 television lineup is quite impressive with new comedies, love stories, action shows, and thrillers. One new show featured by Amazon Studios and starring Jeffrey Tambor is sure to wow viewers. Transparent was initially part of several original plots shown to viewers last February. As part of these showings, people were allowed to select those they wanted picked up as series. While there were several great choices, Transparent was among the favorite.

This series was created, written, and directed by Jill Soloway, who was also involved with the making of “United States of Tara” and “Six Feet Under”. The plot involves the Pfefferman family, as well as the many secrets they guard from one another. Mort, played by Tambor, has one of the biggest secrets of being in the process of transitioning from living as a man to a woman who will be called Maura.

Mort’s dilemma is how to tell his family, which includes three adult who have struggled in finding their own firm ground in life. Ali is played by Gaby Hoffman, Sarah by Amy Landecker and who has conflicts with her sexuality, and finally, Josh played by Jay Duplass, who works as a record producer and has multiple girlfriends. One of the other main characters of Transparent is Shelly, Mort’s ex-wife played by Judith Light.

The first series trailer premiered on Entertainment Weekly and after careful consideration, movie executives felt Transparent was a perfect fit for Amazon Prime. The series will be released in full on September 26, and feature talented starts like Melora Hardin, Kathryn Hahn, and Carrier Brownstein.

Although Transparent touches on a sensitive subject matter for some people, moviegoers and critics who have watched the trailer agree this will be a big hit but also a show that quickly becomes one of the new favorites for the 2014 season. The new series will debut sometime in September, with an early 2015 date for full viewing.
