The Maze Runner: Intense Action Movie – Trailer

the maze runnerThe Maze Runner is an American action/science ficsion/thriller film that is sure to keep audiences on the edge of their seats. This film was written by Noah Oppenheim and directed by Wes Ball. Based on the 2009 book, The Maze Runner”, the movie is filled with lots of unexpected twists and turns.

This film tells the story of Thomas, played by Dylan O’Brien, who wakes up on only to find himself trapped in a huge maze along with several other boys. Thomas has no memory of anything in the outside world but upon investigating the maze, he begins to remember small parts of his past. Unsure of his purpose for being there, he hopes to find answers but more importantly, a way to escape.

Other stars in The Maze Runner include Thomas Brodie Sangster, Kaya Scodelario, Will Poulter, Ki Hong Lee, Blake Cooper, Ami Ameen, Alexander Flores, Jacob Latimore, Chris, Dexter, Randall D. Cunningham, Joe Alter, and Patricia Clarkson. Although The Maze Runner was not cast with mega stars, these up and coming actors do an amazingly good job portraying their characters but also the raw emotions they experience while trying to find a way out of the maze.

Filming on The Maze Runner began on May 13, 2013 in Louisiana and ended just two months later. Originally, the film was going to be released this past February but in October, the date was rescheduled with a new showing date of September 19, 2014. Even so this film is expected to do well, there has been a big marketing campaign to include social media and television to help get moviegoers excited.

In October 2013, 20th Century Fox announced that it had acquired the rights to The Scorch Trials, the second book following The Maze Runner. Filming of this second movie will reportedly begin sometime this fall and if The Maze Runner captures audiences as critics believe, The Scorch Trials will also have huge box office success. This movie will be written by T.S. Nowlin and directed by Wes Ball.
