Dolphin Tale 2 Hits Theaters September 12 – Trailer

dolphin taleDolphin Tale 2 is a sequel to Dolphin Tale, an American drama film written and directed by Charles Martin Smith. As with the first movie, this sequel will have an impressive cast to include Harry Connick, Jr., Ashley Judd, Kris Kristofferson, Morgan Freeman, Juliana Harkavy, Nathan Gamble, Cozi Zuehlsdorff, Bethany Hamilton, and Austin Stowell.

Set to be released in theaters on September 12, 2014, the film tells the story of a baby dolphin named “Hope” who is in an aquatic hospital called Clearwater Marine Aquarium along with a dolphin friend called Winter. The older dolphin will continue to be the main character in Dolphin Tale 2, as in the first film but there are also several returning characters, one being Rufus the Pelican.

The script of Dolphin Tale 2 revolves around real life events that occurr at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium to include the successful release of a rehabilitated dolphin named Mandy. However, it is the special connection made between orphaned Hope and two lead characters, Sawyer (Nathan Gamble) and Hazel (Cozi Zuehisdoff) that really tugs on viewer’s heartstrings.

Filming of Dolphin Tale 2 began in October 2013 and ended in January 2014 at the aquarium in Florida. Shooting was extra special and unique because Clearwater Marine Aquarium is open to the public on weekends so people were visiting simultaneous to filming. Although Dolphin Tale 2 is geared toward a younger audience, the film will be enjoyed by moviegoers of all ages.

Because there are so many inspiring stories pertaining to Hope and Winter, as well as other aquatic life at the aquarium, there are rumblings that a “Dolphin Tale 3” could be in the not-so-distant future.
